OnePlus has been teasing smartwatches for a very long time. Finally, it looks like the time has come for this, as the brand's first smartwatches began to receive certifications. Yes, you heard right, OnePlus may be producing not one but two watches. Let's take a look at everything that's leaked about these wearables so far in this article.
OnePlus watch design
According to the OnePlus Health app, the Chinese smartphone maker could launch two smartwatches. One of them will have a round dial and model number W501GB. But the second watch with the model number W301GB will have a square dial.
Both of these wearable devices have been certified by BIS of India (Bureau of Indian Standards). Hence, we could expect them to be launched in the country in the same way as the OnePlus Band, which was launched in early January as the first OnePlus wearable product.
That being said, these watches may debut as "OnePlus Watch RX" and "OnePlus Watch" respectively. In addition, they are expected to be either rebranded or redesigned versions of the OPPO Watch RX and OPPO Watch, respectively. Of these two, the first has not yet gone on sale.
OnePlus Watch software
OnePlus was supposed to ship its smartwatch with Google Wear OS. Unfortunately, this may not be the case, according to a reliable source of information. Even the OnePlus Health app confirms the same.
Hence, we can expect these wearables to run their own software. Therefore, it may not support third party applications.
In short, if so, then OnePlus The Watch and OnePlus Watch RX will be nothing but fitness trackers. disguised as a smart watch.
One Plus Watch Limited Edition
At least one of the two OnePlus smartwatches was originally slated to launch alongside the OnePlus 8T. It could have been someone with a square watch face (W301GB) as it was IMDA certified at the end of August 2020.
Since this watch was supposed to be released in the second half of last year, the company even planned to release Cyberpunk 2077 Limited Edition alongside the OnePlus 8T model with the same theme.
We are aware of this variant as its straps were leaked in early November. If anything, it is unknown if this special edition will be released now. But perhaps there could have been another limited edition instead.
OnePlus watch release date
OnePlus has yet to officially announce the launch date for the OnePlus Watch. But company CEO Pete Lau said it will be released in early 2021.
OnePlus Watch price and availability
OnePlus was born as a flagship killer brand. Since its inception, the company's products have been cheaper than the main high-end products. Therefore, we believe that the company's smartwatches can be as affordable as its smartphones and other products.
