The vast majority of Android users install applications only from Google Play. However, the potential of Android goes far beyond the Play Store and Google services. Google offers many APKs, and we’ve prepared a list of the best APKs and Android apps that aren’t on the Play Store.
Best Game Outside Play Store: Fortnite
Fortnite, the Battle Royale game, which became a real cultural phenomenon in 2018, is so popular that the creator of Epic Games decided that they don’t need to pay Google 30% for the Play Store, choosing hosting for themselves instead.
Fortnite is a free game and worth a try - although you may find it quite exciting! To help you get started, we have a great guide to helpful tips and tricks.
But beware, there are still a lot of fake malware downloaded APKs claiming to be Fortnite. To be safe, use only the official link from Epic Games below:
Best for gaming: Humble Bundle
The Legendary Humble Bundle has recently received several updates, that is, it is no longer available on the Play Store (maybe Google now sees it as a competitor?). For the uninitiated, the Humble Bundle allows you to pay to download high-end game kits for your Android device (and PC).
The money you pay is shared between charities, developers, and the website. With this application, you can easily manage your Android Humble Bundle library of games and receive updates when the next Humble Bundle appears.
Best For Streaming: VideoMix
This app is a fantastic resource for streaming your favorite TV shows and movies online. However, keep in mind your country's laws regarding copyrighted streaming content if you don't want to get into trouble.
After you find the show or movie that you want to watch, just tap it, select a site to stream it, and you will be able to choose which video player application you want to play. at. In addition, there is a button that integrates IMDB into the application so you can browse actors and find related torrents.
Best for copying to YouTube: Videoder
The VCR is probably the most functional YouTube ripper of all. You’re looking for the right video on YouTube, and the application displays various formats that you can upload to, including 1080p and MP3 (although both are in beta, so they can sometimes go bad).
You simply install the download directory and get a break. TubeMate is another application that has similar functionality.
Best for downloaders: Transdroid
For all enthusiastic torrents, Transdroid provides a great way to control your torrents remotely. It supports home servers and seed boxes. Inside the client, you can, among other things, add torrents, start and stop them, and set priorities.
It supports all major torrent clients, including uTorrent, Deluge and Vuze. You can download a stripped down version from the Play Store called Transdrone, but to get the full experience, including integrated torrent search and RSS feeds, be sure to download the Transdroid APK. Again, keep in mind the laws related to torrents in your country.
YouTube's Best Alternative: NewPipe
NewPipe is a great free YouTube interface from the alternative app store F-Droid, which hosts open source APKs, and automatically updates installed applications.
NewPipe has a nice, clean, ad-free interface and can play videos in the background while you perform other tasks or even when the screen is off.
The downside is that it does not support your Google account, so you cannot see your subscriptions. Video quality options are also limited in NewPipe - it does not support 1080p playback or better.
