Meizu's new smartphone appears on TENAA

Meizu was once one of the main Chinese smartphone companies selling products to customers all over the world. However, the company lost its relevance and failed to build a solid competitive strategy against the likes of Xiaomi, Huawei (before the ban) and BBK groups. The company is still around with timely launches, but reports suggest it is being bought by Chinese car company Geely. However, this may not be a strategy to stop your smartphone business. Apparently, the company is actually setting the stage for a new smartphone. Meizu M2111 was just seen in the Chinese certification agency TENAA. The device has a square camera module for snipers and a hole-punch cutout. The back of the device confirms that it is part of the mBlu series.

Specifications Meizu «mBlu» M2111

The list of preliminary specifications confirms that we are ready for a 6,51-inch TFT display with a resolution of 1600 x 710. This is an unusual resolution, and we assume that it will suit the HD + department. The device also has an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The main camera on the back is 48-megapixel. Unfortunately, details about the auxiliary module are not given. The phone will have an unnamed 2,0GHz quad-core processor. The device is paired with 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM. In terms of memory, the device will be available in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage options. It's crazy to hear that the quad-core smartphone will have a version with 256GB of internal storage. The device also has a micro SD card slot for further storage expansion.

The claimed dimensions of the phone are 164,5 x 76,5 x 9,3 mm and the weight is 201 grams. The device will be powered by a huge 5000 mAh battery. We don't think there will be any kind of fast charging with this device. Meizu M2111 will be available in black, white, gold and blue. Other details such as software version, charging capabilities are still a mystery. But we don't have high hopes. The device is likely running Android 11 with Flyme OS on top.

It looks like a super budget smartphone. We assume that this device will be limited to the Chinese market, as it probably won't have much success in global markets.

Let's see how Meizu will react to other market segments now that it has become part of another company.
