Microsoft will speed up Windows 11 next year

Microsoft will be focusing more on improving the performance and responsiveness of its Windows 11 operating system next year, according to Internet sources. Members of the Windows Development Team have said this in response to the "Ask Me Anything" question from users of the Reddit platform.

During the conversation, one Reddit user mentioned the trend towards sluggishness in the UI Windows 11 , which is mainly related to the operation of the file manager and the menu that appears when you right-click the mouse. In response, the developers announced plans to improve the performance of the operating system in 2022; including faster rendering of UI elements.

“Some issues are related to WinUI performance; but some also probably have nothing to do with what our team is doing; but still important for Windows in general. In addition to focusing part of our UX framework on performance in 2022; we also have a dedicated team that was recently formed to more comprehensively address this issue, ”the developers said.

Obviously, Microsoft is serious about improving the responsiveness of the user interface of its operating system. Anything that makes Windows 11 less responsive when performing simple tasks such as navigating between folders; Viewing files or right-clicking on the menu will negatively affect the OS's reputation among users. Since Microsoft plans to actively promote Windows 11, such problems in the OS should be addressed.

Microsoft has updated the standard Media Player for Windows 11 - it is already possible to test it

Microsoft has released a new Media Player app for Windows 11 that members of the Windows Insider Dev Channel can test. The new software will support both audio and video playback; and its design matches the Windows 11 interface.

At the heart of the Media Player, Microsoft says, is a completely new music library that lets you quickly browse and play music; and create and manage playlists. Whether in full screen or mini-player mode, Media Player will display album art or artist images.

The Media Player will also support video, which is usually played in the Movies & TV app in Windows 10 and Windows 11. Now, video and audio content will automatically appear in the library of the new player. In addition, users will be able to specify where the player can search for additional content.

Media Player will replace the legacy Windows Media Player application still present in Windows 11. Microsoft says the legacy player will continue to be available in the OS; but it looks like the new Media Player will soon become the primary means of watching video and listening to music on Windows 11. Microsoft has yet to announce when Media Player will be available to all users.
