This year, besides the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898, we will also have the MdieaTek Dimensity 2000 flagship processor. While the Snapdragon 898 SoC will go on sale this year, the Dimensity 2000 will officially launch early next year.

It is a top-tier flagship processor with enough performance to catch up with the Snapdragon 898. The industry sees this processor as "a turning point for MediaTek."
Yesterday Lu Weibing, CEO of Redmi, first mentioned the Dimensity 2000 chip. His post Weibo reads: “What is Dimensity 2000? Everyone tells us …… ”. So he asks Mi Fans what they think of MediaTek's upcoming flagship processor. Business leaders don't often mention products they don't intend to use. This post raises speculation that Redmi will use this flagship processor.
Redmi doesn't make many flagship smartphones and the K-series is its most popular flagship series. Thus, there are speculations that the company will use Dimensity 2000 in the Redmi K50 series. There are also reports that the company may use this chip for an improved version of the Redmi K50 game.
The now sold enhanced version of the Redmi K40 game is equipped with a Dimensity chip. However, it still lags far behind the actual flagship specs. Thus, the smartphone is not the best choice for gaming. However, the improved version of the Redmi K50 game will completely make up for this shortcoming.
Dimension 2000 vs Snapdragon 898
On paper, Dimensity 2000 can be compared to the Snapdragon 898. Both flagship processors have the same architecture. The CPU is 1 super-large 3,0GHz X2 core + 3 large 2,85GHz cores + 4 small 1,8GHz cores. In addition, the MediaTek chip will use the Mali-G710 MC10 GPU. The chip is also based on TSMC's 4nm process technology.
Looking at these parameters, the performance of the Dimensity 2000 is better than that of the Snapdragon 898. We expect this processor to provide sufficient protection in terms of power consumption. Dimensity 2000 overcame some of the hurdles in the AnTuTu Benchmark with a whopping 1 points. There are reports that the Snapdragon 002 SoC will also top 220 million.
