Twitch App Now Available on Nintendo Switch

It turned out that the Twitch application can now be installed on a portable game console Nintendo Switch ... To do this, simply go to the official eShop and download the streaming app to your device from there.

Twitch App Now Available on Nintendo Switch

The Twitch app itself looks pretty simple. Here, users will find Home tabs with recommended broadcasts, Browse with broadcasts for specific games or categories, and Search. The new app is for content viewing only. You won't be able to use it to organize your own streams.

Twitch for Nintendo has fewer features compared to the web or desktop app. The main innovation is that users can now watch Twitch broadcasts on the console screen or on the TV. To log into your Twitch account, you don't need to enter your credentials using the console controls - you just need to scan the QR code from your smartphone, after which the authorization in the console app will be done automatically.

Note that the Switch's streaming capabilities are still pretty limited, although YouTube and Hulu are already available on the console. It is likely that other streaming apps such as Netflix will be adapted for this platform in the future. So stay tuned for more news on this topic.

Nintendo Switch sales plummet in QXNUMX due to chip shortages

Nintendo is forced to adjust its own forecast for Switch game consoles sales downward. The reason lies in the uncertainty associated with the ongoing pandemic and the global shortage of electronic components.

Nintendo sold approximately 3,83 million Switch devices in the third quarter of this calendar year. For comparison: a year earlier, sales were equal to 6,86 million units. In total, since the device appeared on the market, sales amounted to 92,87 million copies of various versions (Switch and Switch Lite).

For the current fiscal year, which runs for Nintendo from April 2021 to March 2022, the company originally planned to sell 25,5 million Switch kits. But now the forecast has been lowered by 1,5 million devices - to 24,0 million units.

At the same time, Nintendo kept its annual revenue forecast unchanged. In addition, the company raised its operating profit forecast by 4% from previously expected figures. This is due to changes in currency rates, as well as higher rates in the segment of games and other software.
