There have been many paid apps in the Apple App Store over the years. This kind of software is basically a buyout system. This new system means standing payments for those who want to use this application. Nevertheless, the company's decision caused huge discontent among existing users. Many of these users expressed their anger and even criticized all of his work.
The Notability announcement indicates that the software will no longer use the buyback system. The app will now use the free download + subscription system, which costs about $ 15 per year. Previous purchasers will only receive limited options. They will get a free membership for only one year, as well as iCloud note sync. In addition, these contributors will have a note limit, handwriting recognition, automatic backups, and mathematical transformation. They will not have access to other features.
Preexisting Notability users resisted and achieved results
The existing users of this application did not retreat without a fight. They all went to the App Store to report Notability for violating Apple's policies. It even caused a "group fight" among users for a while.
The fierce resistance of such a large number of users made the official pay attention to this. The company had to make some changes to its original announcement. Notability has already sent out emails to users and announced on the public platform that it will release Notability version 11.0.2. The biggest change in this release is that all users who purchased Notability prior to downgrading on November 1, 2021 will have lifetime access to all existing features and any content previously purchased in the app.
