iQOO 7 & Neo5 Spotted On BIS And Coming To India Soon

Recent reports have claimed that iQOO prepares to launch new iQOO phones in India. One of them appears to be the flagship phone iQOO 7, which debuted in China in January. Screenshot provided by a specialist Abhishek Yadav, shows that the alleged iQOO 7 and iQOO Neo5 smartphones have received Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) approval.

The BIS screenshot provided by the whistleblower shows that I2009 and I2011 are the model numbers of upcoming iQOO smartphones for India. The i2009 was previously spotted on Geekbench in February with a Snapdragon 888, mobile platform, 12GB of RAM and Android 11 OS. This model is speculated to come out of hiding in India as the iQOO 7.

The iQOO I2011 model number has been revealed for the first time. A similar model number, I2012, with specs like Snapdragon 870, 8GB RAM, and Android 11 OS, was spotted on Geekbench last month. At the time, it was speculated that the device might be the Indian variant of the iQOO Neo5.

Model numbers I1927 and I1928 refer to last year's 4G and 5G variants Article 3... Hence, there is a possibility that the I2012 as well as the I2011 model numbers could be associated with the Neo5. With BIS certifications in hand, it looks like iQOO will soon be announcing new iQOO phones in India.

In related news, iQOO is reportedly planning to launch mid-range Z series phones and entry-level U series smartphones in China. These devices will likely launch as the iQOO Z3 and iQOO U3x by the end of this month. The Z3 could have a 144Hz display, Snapdragon 768G and 48MP triple cameras, while the iQOO U3x could be a powered upgrade of the Snapdragon 480 I live Y31s 5G.
