Xiaomi will soon launch a new Redmi phone in Malaysia, probably the Redmi 9T

Xiaomi Malaysia has announced a new smartphone that may soon appear in the Asian country. The tech giant recently launched a contest on its page in Facebook, in which ten lucky ones will win one new smartphone each. But the company does not disclose the name of the unannounced smartphone. It only indicated that the phone would be a Redmi model, which he named Redmi XX.

The teaser accompanying the competition contains a render of the device with a rear camera. The image shows the unit will pack a four-camera setup, mounted vertically in the upper left corner. The device looks like the Chinese version of the Redmi Note 9 4G, which also looks like the Poco M3. Thus, there are strong speculations that this is the Redmi 9T, which was recently certified in Thailand. redmi 9T

In comparison, the Redmi 9T is expected to feature a 6,53-inch Full HD + IPS display and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. The device is also equipped with a large 6000mAh battery.

The camera setup will be similar to that of the Poco M3, which includes a 48MP main camera, a 2MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor. The Redmi 9T is said to have a fourth sensor which is an 8MP ultra wide angle camera. The design is similar to the Redmi Note 9 4G, except where there is an LED sensor on the Redmi Note 9 4G, there will be a sensor.

There is no word yet on when the device will be released, but given that the competition ends on January 7, 2021, the new phone could be unveiled as early as next week. We can't guess the price, but since the POCO M3 starts at RM599 for the 64GB version and RM699 for the 128GB version, we expect the Redmi 9T to be priced around that region.
