According to the report BloombergThe lawsuit was filed after media reports that a social media app was accessing iPhone cameras even when the user was not actively using them. Since then, Facebook has denied reports and blamed the entire issue for a fraudulent error that appears to be being fixed using iPhone selfie cameras.

An Instagram user from New Jersey, USA, filed a complaint earlier this week. One suing person argued that the use of the camera was deliberate and was done to collect lucrative and valuable data about its users that the camera would otherwise not have access to. ” They also stated that "by receiving extremely confidential and intimate personal data about their users, including in the privacy of their own homes, they can collect valuable information and market research."
