Xiaomi recently launched its own iteration of monitors for different segments and is also showing growing interest in the display market. A new report says the company is working on a new transparent 27-inch OLED panel TV from Samsung.
According to the report MydriveThe Chinese tech giant plans to release this transparent TV by 2021. This new monitor will be marketed as an ultra-high-end flagship TV. For those who don't know, transparent TVs are ditching the traditional backplane and transforming circuitry and micro devices into destructive transparent forms through precise layout. In addition, a 27-inch OLED display from Samsung will be used.
The report also states that Xiaomi has already begun setting up a supply chain for the product, and negotiations are underway regarding operations and delivery commitments. Despite the high cost of Samsung OLED panels and the legacy cost of transparent displays, we can expect the future TV to be quite expensive.
