New report from 91Mobiles showed that Xiaomi plans to release a number of new smart home products in India later this year. A source from the Chinese tech giant said the company will launch a new smart refrigerator and washing machines in the fourth quarter of 2020.
These will be the first washing machines and refrigerators to be launched in the country under a Chinese brand. New launches will be from the lineup MIJIA and are in line with Xiaomi's plans to expand its IoT and home improvement portfolio in the region. Notably, last year the company's managing director in India, Manu Kumar Jain, said that Xiaomi plans to enter new categories such as water purifiers, laptops and washing machines.
The manufacturer has already released the Mi water purifier, and recently also introduced its Mi laptops... So we can expect the washing machines to arrive soon. In addition, Xiaomi is likely to stick to its aggressive pricing policy, which will make the offerings attractive to the market. Unfortunately, the company has not yet commented on the matter or confirmed the news.
