Tecno released many budget smartphones this year, most of which are only 4G. However, today the company has finally taken a step forward with the release of a new 5G smartphone. Tecno is part of a larger plan by the Transsion Holdings conglomerate to become a sought-after brand in international markets. The group behind Infinix, Tecno and Itel is expanding its efforts to reach users in emerging markets. Today the company presented Tecno Pova 5G, which offers attractive specs like Dimensity 900 5G and a powerful 6000mAh battery.

Tecno Pova 5G presents the SoC MediaTek Dimensity 900. For those who don't know, this chipset was introduced earlier this year by MediaTek. It boasts two ARM Cortex-A78 cores clocked at up to 2,4GHz and six ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 2GHz. This chipset uses a 6nm manufacturing process making it an efficient option. The device comes in a single variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. There is a micro SD card slot for further memory expansion.
The Tecno Pova 5G sports a massive 6,9-inch IPS LCD screen with Full HD + 2400 x 1080 pixels. The panel also has a 120Hz refresh rate and has a hole in the center at the top for taking selfies. The camera itself is a 16MP selfie camera. Coming back to the back, we see a three-camera setup. It includes a 50MP main shot, 2MP macro and an unknown depth sensor. There is also a dual LED flash. The back has a dual texture pattern that gives the device a unique look.
The phone also has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 3,5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. The device is powered by a huge 6000mAh battery with 18W fast charging. The battery is massive, and with this efficient chipset you should be able to last for over two days. However, charging should take more than 2 hours. One of the disadvantages of the device is that it still ships with Android 11. The device runs HiOS 8 on top.
The device is available in a single color scheme called Aether Black. Unfortunately, Tecno did not disclose how much the Tecno Pova 5G will cost, nor did it say where the device will be available.
