Oppo is preparing to introduce the Oppo Reno7 series of smartphones. According to reports, the new devices could be introduced to the Chinese market sometime in December. However, the Oppo Reno6 series is still alive and a new smartphone is due to be presented soon. The Reno6 series was introduced a few months ago with the Reno6, Reno 6 Pro and Reno6 Pro + smartphones. Now it looks like a new variant of the Oppo Reno6 Lite is approaching release.

At the moment, the launch date of the Oppo Reno6 Lite remains a mystery. However, design renders of the device have leaked online, which is a good hint that it is still too far from release. New renders were uploaded by analyst Evan Blass ... We don't expect the device to take much longer to release. After all, Oppo will most likely unveil it before the Oppo Reno7 series comes out. Also, this Lite variant is likely targeted for global markets. We don't think the brand will return to the Reno6 series with the upcoming release of Reno7 smartphones.
Oppo Reno6 Lite declared characteristics
Coming back to the design renders, we can get a good look at the front and back design of the device. It will pack a rectangular module on the back with a triple camera. The text on the camera module confirms that the device will be equipped with a 48MP main camera sensor. In addition, it is expected to feature two 2-megapixel shots for macro photography and depth sensing.
The front of the device is a flat display with a large chin. It comes with a notch in the upper left corner for a selfie shot. The diagonal size of the screen remains a mystery, however the device will have a Full HD + AMOLED display. The device has a regular power button on the right side, so we're assuming it has an in-display fingerprint reader. Most Oppo smartphones have a screen size close to 6,5 inches. We expect the Oppo Reno6 Lite to get close to that mark.
The volume keys are located on the edge of the handset. Other specs are Qualcomm's Snapdragon SoC, although the exact chipset remains unknown. The device will have 6 GB of RAM, 5 GB of virtual memory and 128 GB of internal storage. We don't expect this phone to feature a Micro SD card slot. As for the battery, it will be fueled by a 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging. We assume that it will still ship with ColorOS 11 based on Android 11 rather than Android 12.
