The device was introduced in 2019 and only launched in 2020 with Android 10. This update was expected from 2021, but the company never had time to release it. The update is rolling out with firmware version 2021.1027.156 and raises the Android security patch on Surface Duo to January 2022. The new update also improves Quick Settings and brings a brand new design for the app drawer and folders. Microsoft is also bringing an improved dual-screen experience to the device. Users will be able to view and edit photos in the OneDrive app.
