Realme X7 Pro has become official as one of the most affordable flagship killers of 2020. The phone has one of the most powerful chipsets of the year, but it's not made by Qualcomm: we're talking about the Dimensity 1000+, which allowed Realme to set a very affordable price for this phone. But the Realme X7 Pro isn't the only phone with this chipset launched this year: there is Redmi K30 Ultra in the same price range. That's why we decided to make a comparison between the two, and for those still distrustful of MediaTek's new flagship chipsets, we also introduced the latest device launched with Qualcomm SoC in the same price range: ZTE Axon 20 5G.

Design
The ZTE Axon 20 5G is a very innovative device and it is the first smartphone to offer full screen mode while still having a selfie camera on the front. Indeed, the ZTE Axon 20 5G is the first phone with an under-display camera: a technology that is still not ideal for this device, but provides a full-screen display in a very thin body.
The phone is also built with high quality materials, including a glass back and an aluminum body. The Redmi K30 Ultra also has a full screen display but comes with a motorized retractable camera. Realme X7 Pro has a hole-in-the-screen design.
Display
On paper, the most compelling display belongs to the Redmi K30 Ultra, which features an AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10 + certification. Right after that, we got the Realme X7 Pro, which also has a 120Hz AMOLED display. But the ZTE Axon 20 5G offers an important advantage beyond the under-display front-facing camera: it has one of the widest bezels ever seen on a phone, at 6,92 inches. All devices have Full HD + resolution.
Technical specifications and software
Realme X7 Pro and Redmi K30 Ultra are equipped with a flagship Dimensity 1000+ chipset: to give you an idea, AnTuTu places this SoC in the middle between Snapdragon 855+ and Snapdragon 865. You probably realized that this is a more powerful chipset than Snapdragon 765G installed in ZTE Axon 20 5G. And obviously supports 5G networks.
The Redmi K30 Ultra and Realme X7 Pro have up to 8GB of RAM, but the former has up to 512GB of internal storage, while the Realme X7 Pro is limited to 256GB. With the ZTE Axon 20 5G, you get a maximum of 256GB, but this is the only smartphone with a micro SD slot. Android 10 is installed out of the box and is customizable using user interfaces.
Camera
The Redmi K30 Ultra looks like the device with the best rear camera capabilities because it has better secondary sensors on the back. This is a 13MP ultra wide-angle lens and a 5MP telephoto lens. But if we talk about the front camera, then the ZTE Axon 20 5G (and Realme X7 Pro) is definitely better. Realme X7 Pro and ZTE Axon 20 5G have a very similar rear camera department, only the ultra-wide sensor is slightly different.
Battery
The Realme X7 Pro and Redmi K30 Ultra have a larger 4500mAh battery than the ZTE Axon 20 5G. Given that they have the same chipset and the same refresh rate, it's hard to know which one will run more on a single charge without testing them thoroughly. But note that the Realme X7 Pro has faster charging technology with 65W of power.
Price
Realme X7 Pro and ZTE Axon 20 5G start at around € 270 / $ 320 in China, while Redmi K30 Ultra starts from € 329 / $ 389. The differences between the Realme X7 Pro and the Redmi K30 Ultra are so minor that it is not worth spending € 30 / $ 50 more on the Redmi K70 Ultra. The Redmi K30 Ultra has better secondary rear cameras and HDR10 +, but the Realme X7 Pro has faster charging and a better front camera, as well as a sleeker design IMHO. With price tags like this, if design isn't your main concern, I think there really isn't a reason to buy the ZTE Axon 20 5G.
