Windows 11: next big update won't take place until summer 2022

We need to be patient to hear all the important news that Windows 11 has in store for us. Indeed, according to recent rumors, the next major operating system update will be completed around May 2021 and should therefore be available. to the general public in the summer.

If we can hardly qualify Windows 11 As a revolution, the operating system was able to polish several legacy aspects of Windows 10, making it easier for newbies to use. But, admittedly, users are not yet very full when it comes to new features. Most of the expected features are currently only available to Insiders, and the general public (if exaggerating a bit) should be happy with the new design and improved performance.

So it's only natural that the next big Windows update is eagerly awaited. We hoped to see this land early next year; but, unfortunately, it seems that the wait will take longer. According to rumors aired by Windows Central, big new items are likely to arrive in the summer of 2022. The final version, called Sun Valley 2, should arrive in May.

Version 22H2 is internally codenamed "Sun Valley 2", which adds more credibility over the 1511; as it was codenamed Threshold 2 after the initial release. A number of built-in applications will also receive updates; including Notepad and Groove Music, both of which are already in preview.

We do not yet have specific information on the new features that Sun Valley 2 will bring. However, we can make some reasonable assumptions based on the features currently available to Insiders. So it's possible that Windows 11 finally offers native support for Android apps. Currently, users can install APK versions using third-party apps. Other expected features may appear; for example, the famous taskbar drag-and-drop that disappears when moving to Windows 11.

“By following the lessons learned from Windows 10, we want to make sure we're giving you the best experience possible,” says Microsoft. “This means that new eligible devices will receive the update first. This will then be extended over time to marketed devices based on smart models that take into account equipment compliance, reliability parameters, device age and other factors that affect the quality of service.
