Snapdragon 8 Gen1 AnTuTu score has appeared online - compared to Dimensity 9000

AnTuTu score for a smartphone with Qualcomm's latest flagship processor, Snapdragon 8 Gen1, has surfaced today. The rating of this smartphone in the AnTuTu database shows that it scores 1 points. This shows that the Snapdragon 025 Gen215 score exceeds the Dimensity 8 score with 1 points. Recall that the engineering model Dimensity 9000 scored 1007396 points on AnTutu. This makes the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 the most powerful chip in the Android camp. However, a few important points should be noted. First, the difference in scores is not significant and may not reflect actual performance. Secondly, these are just engineering models, and in reality they can differ significantly.

Snapdragon 8 Gen1

However, AnTuTu's Weibo claims that the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 cores are real and efficient. The processor clock speed is 2995,2 MHz and the GPU model is Adreno 730. In addition, AnTuTu claims that the performance of the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 is a significant improvement over the Snapdragon 888 model. The former has an average performance gain of around 20%. GPU performance is significantly improved by about 37,5%. The Snapdragon 8 Gen1 GPU score is 447926 points.

In most cases, the performance of these processors will increase after mass production. Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 is a flagship processor that uses Samsung's 4nm manufacturing process. It comes with a large Cortex X2 core clocked at 3,0GHz. It also has a medium-sized Cortex-A710 core (2,5 GHz) as well as a small Cortex-A510 core (1,79 GHz).

Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 is more expensive than MediaTek Dimensity 9000

MediaTek launched the Dimensity 9000 processor a few days ago, and Qualcomm will release the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor next week. The two main 5G processors have been upgraded using 4nm technology and new architecture. The competition between these processors will be fierce, and the Dimensity 9000 will want to get its hands on several flagship smartphones. According to reports from @DCS both flagship processors will be very expensive. Dimensity 9000 is almost double the price of its predecessor Dimensity 1200 ... However, the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 is still more expensive than the Dimensity 9000.

As for the 5nm Dimensity 7000, @DCS claims this chip will arrive after the first quarter of next year. Qualcomm will also have an iterative upgrade of the Snapdragon 7 series processor. The main goal is to replace the Snapdragon 870 in the mid-range market, but the Dimensity 7000's feedback is better.

It should be noted that the relative prices quoted in @DCS refer to the price of the chipset, not the price of a single processor. This is because the Dimensity 9000 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 that the manufacturers bought from MediaTek and Qualcomm are not one processor and there are auxiliary parts.
