"Nothing" Not Prepared To Launch TWS Black Headphones, According To Report

Nothing like the brand got its start with Carl Pei's departure from OnePlus, with Pei co-founder of the popular smartphone brand for enthusiasts. A couple of months later, the company announced its first product, the Nothing Ear (1).

The key selling point for these truly wireless earbuds is not ANC support or rather superior sound considering the price, but instead focuses on design, featuring a transparent design that brings with it a fresh new take on the rather dated headphone market.

Now it looks like 91mobiles learnedthat Nothing (1) ear will get a new black hue, via industry insider Ishan Agarwal. At the moment, truly wireless headphones are offered in one shade of white. The Black variant will likely have a similar transparent design, with black ear tips rather than white ones.

This comes after popular YouTuber Casey Neistat took to Twitter to ask the company to make the in-ear headphones (1) black, after he painted the earbuds himself with a marker to demonstrate how good the headphones would look in black. ...

Nothing's ear (1) features Clear Voice technology, which Nothing claims can reduce distracting background noise by adjusting the equalizer to fine tune the sound. Headphone detection is also present, which means that the headphones stop playing content when the headphones are taken out of the user's ear.

For those interested in working with both Android and iOS devices, the Nothing Ear (1) comes with a companion app that offers users the ability to customize gestures to control playback.

The earbuds connect to your smartphone via Bluetooth 5.2 and have ANC or Active Noise Cancellation support up to 40dB. Three listening modes are present, namely light, maximum and transparency, with the latter two offering ANC and ambient noise penetration capability.

The earbuds are charged via USB Type-C with a case that houses a 570mAh battery, while the Nothing (1) has a 31mAh battery on each earbud. There is nothing to claim that the earbuds last 24 hours on a single charge with the case included and 34 hours without ANC. Qi wireless charging is also present.

For those wondering, the Nothing Ear (1) is available in the Indian market for Rs 5, but at the time of this writing, the headphones are available for Rs 999 on Flipkart.com.
