DxOMark Is a well-known platform for evaluating the quality of cameras, screens and speakers of smartphones. While some people don't believe in the veracity of its ratings, DxOMark is pretty decent and its ratings are mostly relative. The company recently released a test version of the iPhone 13 Pro selfie camera, and many Apple fans will not like the result because it is currently in 10th place.
Although this device is behind nine Android smartphones, it is one of the best on the market. iPhone 13 Pro scores 99 points, and the number one smartphone, the Huawei P50 Pro, scores 106 points. This means that they are separated by only 7 points, which is not entirely bad.
Overall performance is very similar to last year's iPhone 12 series, but the iPhone 13 Pro performs better in selfies thanks to accurate subject exposure, wide depth of field, and good detail in highlights and indoors.
The iPhone 13 Pro is also one of the best devices in the selfie video category. Its video dynamic range is wide, target exposure is accurate, neutral white balance produces natural and pleasing skin tones, and color sensitivity is also excellent.
The iPhone 13 Pro is one of the flagship models of the Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max in the 2021 iPhone series. It features a 6,1-inch Super Retina XDR display and up to 1TB internal storage. It uses the same A15 Bionic chipset as the Pro Max and has the same triple camera setup.
The 2021 iPhone models have the same front camera settings and specifications as the iPhone 12 series: 1 / 3,6-inch sensor combined with an f / 2,2 prime lens.
Main front camera specifications:
- 12MP 1 / 3,6 "sensor, 23mm equivalent focal length, f / 2,2 lens
- 3D sensor
- Cinema mode (1080p, 30fps) for video recording with shallow depth of field
- Used by Dolby Vision to record HDR video up to 4K 60fps; 4K video recording at 24/25/30/60 frames per second; 1080p HD video recording at 25, 30, or 60 fps
The iPhone 13 Pro scored 102 points per photo, one point better than the 12 Pro due to its accurate subject exposure, wide depth of field, and good detail in highlights and indoors. However, the iPhone 13 Pro has more noise than its predecessor.
The difference in video is more obvious (95 versus 93), and the iPhone 13 Pro becomes one of the best devices in this category, just one point below the top score. For video, Apple has managed to increase exposure and color sensitivity has become more stable. The new device also has a wider video dynamic range.
