Samsung unveils new line of high-resolution monitors

Samsung officially announced a line of high-resolution monitors targeted at business and consumers. The new line of monitors consists of 12 different models, and this time Samsung has included HDR support on almost all models. Samsung monitors

At the top of the list is Samsung's flagship S8 line, which will be available in two 27-inch models with model numbers S80A and S80UA. There is also a 32-inch model with model number S80A. They all come with 1 billion color (10-bit) IPS panels and 4K Ultra HD 3840 x 2160 pixels. Samsung claims that HDR10 displays are compatible, but this is actually not the case. The displays can only deliver 300 nits of brightness, which is below the minimum VESA certified DisplayHDR specification of 400 nits.

In addition, Samsung S8 monitors feature a slim bezel-less flat design and support 10Gbps data transfer via USB-C along with a USB hub. The 27-inch S80UA also supports 90W charging. Thus, it can be used to quickly charge laptops that charge via the USB-C port, or even smartphones.

The S8 monitors also have a full range of pan and tilt functions. The monitors also support HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.2, and ultra-fast gaming response times of 5 milliseconds. Samsung monitors

Unlike the S8, the S7 series monitors consist of only two models: the 27-inch S70A and the 34-inch S70A. Both models come with 4K flat screens that support HDR10 and 1,07 billion (10-bit) colors. The display also features a slim bezel and tilt adjustment.

There is also the S6 range, which consists of six models with sizes ranging from 24 to 34 inches. The displays of five models have a QHD 2560 × 1440 resolution. The S65UA, the largest model with a 34-inch curved display, has a UWQHD resolution of 3440 x 1440 pixels. All S6 models support HDR10 with support for 1,07 billion colors (10-bit).

Samsung has yet to release pricing and availability information for these monitors.
