Samsung Galaxy A82 will receive a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 lens

Samsungis reportedly working on the Galaxy A82 smartphone. The smartphone was recently spotted on the Bluetooth SIG and Geekbench database. The phone will replace Galaxy A80, in which a retractable camera module was installed as one of the main functions. The Galaxy A82 is expected to ship with an innovative camera module. German edition GalaxyClub.nl shared important information about the A82's main camera.

According to the publication, the camera of the Galaxy A82 will be equipped with a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 lens, and not the Samsung ISOCELL GW2 / 1 sensor. There is no information on the auxiliary cameras of the A82. It is unclear if the smartphone is equipped with a pop-up camera like its predecessor.

In addition, it looks like the device may be targeting the South Korean market rather than the European market right now. It is said to be equipped with a quantum random number generator chip for better data encryption.

Previous reports have shown that the Galaxy A82 will be powered by a Snapdragon 855 or Snapdragon 855+ chipset, 4GB of RAM, and Android 11 OS. The Bluetooth SIG phone list only states that it is equipped with Bluetooth 5.0.

The Samsung Galaxy A80, which debuted in 2019, came with specs such as a notchless 6,7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with New Infinity design, Snapdragon 730G chipset, 8GB RAM, 128GB storage. and a 3700mA battery with support for 25W fast charging. The A80's camera module consists of a 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a ToF 3D sensor.
