According to the report Reuters, the hacker group gained access to live video feed from CCTV cameras and even to archived surveillance footage of hundreds of businesses. The group even managed to hack Tesla, gaining administrative access to camera maker Verkada over the past two days, according to sources implicated in the security incident. Tilly Kottmann, a Swedish software developer, shared screenshots from a Tesla warehouse in California and an Alabama prison on Twitter.

Kottman has attracted attention for discovering vulnerabilities in mobile applications and other systems. According to the software developer, the hack was supposed to draw attention to the widespread monitoring of people after the login information for Verkada's administrative tools on the Internet was discovered earlier this week. Verkada has since acknowledged the intrusion and said it has disabled all internal administrator accounts to prevent any unauthorized access.

According to the official statement, "Our internal security team and an external security firm are investigating the scale and scope of this problem, and we have notified law enforcement." Notably, the hacker group could use their access to control camera equipment to access other parts of the company's networks with the help of Tesla and even software makers Cloudflare and Okta, according to Cottman.
