Spotted Moto G100 with Snapdragon 870, most powerful G series phone coming soon?

Last month, Motorola unveiled the Motorola Edge S in China as the world's first smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 870 mobile platform. Rumor has it that the device will hit global markets as the Moto G100. Hence, it will likely become the most powerful G series phone from the brand. It looks like the arrival of the device may not be far off as the Moto G100 has appeared on the Geekbench database ( via).

Before name confirmation Motorola edge s he was referred to by the code name "Nio". The same codename is mentioned in the Geekbench 5 Motorola Moto G100 listing. The processor is mentioned with a base frequency of 1,80 GHz. The source code of the listing showed that the SoC can reach a maximum speed of 3,19GHz and has Adreno G50 graphics. Hence, it is confirmed to be equipped with the Snapdragon 870 chipset.

Motorola Edge S Geekbench

The Geekbench variant of the Moto G100 has 8GB of RAM and is loaded with Android 11. In single and multi-core tests, the G100 scored 957 and 2815 points, respectively. The company may conduct internal performance testing of the device before making it official. As mentioned above, it will most likely become the global version of the Edge S phone. It remains to be seen if the Moto G100 will go official in the first quarter. A recent report claimed it could launch in India this month.

The Motorola Edge S features a 6,7-inch Full HD + IPS LCD display with a 21: 9 aspect ratio and a 90Hz refresh rate. The Snapdragon 870 SoC is paired with 6GB / 8GB of RAM. It comes with UFS 3.1 storage options like 128GB and 256GB.

On the front, the Edge S houses a 16MP main selfie camera and an 8MP ultra wide-angle camera. Its rear camera module has a 64MP main lens, a 16MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. Its 5000mAh battery is paired with 20W fast charging support.
