ASUS ROG Phone 5 due to release on March 10

According to the report, ROG Phone 5 got 79 points for sound. To date, this is the highest result in the rating table. The device not only outperforms the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro (76 points), but also shows good results compared to its predecessor.

As compared with ROG Phone 3 last year (75 points), its successor clearly shows good results in both playback and recording - 78 and 79 points, respectively. In particular, in the "Playback" section, it shows good indicators of dynamics, space and artifacts. It also has good timbre, clear tonal balance and bass precision.

However, some cons, such as a slightly lower overall volume and pumping effects at maximum volume, may annoy some users. As for the recording function, the report says that the flagship ASUS '2021 ROG has tonal fidelity, realistic spatial characteristics, accurate envelope rendering (the envelope of the sound wave to determine quality).

It also has a good maximum recording level and mic pickup, but there is slight distortion at one point.

ROG Phone 5

The ASUS ROG Phone 5 should have a 6,78-inch OLED screen, Snapdragon 888 chipset and up to 16GB of RAM. The device will likely come with a 6000mAh battery with 65W fast charging.

Apart from that, the DXOMARK Audio report also gives us a good idea of the dot matrix LED on the rear panel. As you can see above, it can be used to display signs, messages and logos on the back (in the case of ROG laptops). However, we need to see how ASUS optimizes it for smartphones.

In addition, the report confirms the presence of a 3,5mm audio jack and two front speakers with Dirac tuning technology.

Aside from that, ASUS is also likely to release a non-dot matrix display variant, and it could be released a little cheaper than the one shown above.
