AutoX shares a video of its autonomous robo-taxi operating in Shenzhen, China.

Last December, Alibaba-backed RoboTaxi AutoX announced that it was testing its driverless taxis in China. Just a few days ago, the company also announced that it would launch a pilot commercial program for an electric vehicle in Shenzhen, China.

Now we have seen robaxis in action for the first time. AutoX has released a new video in English showing how the autonomous robotic taxi service works. Shenzhen is the 5th largest city in China and a technology center in China. As such, it is likely that the first test run will take place here. The video is impressive: The AutoX Chrysler Pacifica moves to the left, avoids parked cars, overtakes on two-lane roads and stops for pedestrians and cyclists. This qualifies the vehicle as an autonomous level 4. All without a driver in the front seat.

AutoX vehicles are equipped with a patented vehicle control unit called XCU, which the company claims has faster processing speed and greater computing power to handle complex road scenarios. The video shows that the speed of the car does not exceed 40 km / h. Those traveling in RoboTaxi can also speak with a customer service agent to ask any question they want to know. Customer service agents will also be able to check the condition of the vehicle in real time to provide any assistance needed

Since this is a pilot program, those interested can register on the AutoX RoboTaxi registration page to join. Once selected, pilot users can use AutoX Membership Credits for RoboTaxi travel as well.
