Honor apparently signed partnerships with key chip suppliers after splitting from its former parent company Huawei. The brand has partnered with Intel and Qualcomm.

According to the report ReutersThe Chinese budget smartphone maker can only partner with these major chip suppliers due to its separation from Huawei. The latter suffers from the impact of US sanctions, which have damaged its smartphone business as well as disrupted its supply chain. For those who don't know, Huawei sold Honor last year to a consortium of 30 agents and dealers of its subsidiary to save its budget smartphone sub-brand.

Today (January 22, 2021) the company released the Honor V40, which sold out in just 3 minutes. This is the first device released by the brand since the split, and it looks like the company is off to a positive start. He now even partners with key suppliers from all over the world, including AMD, MediaTek, Micron Technology, Microsoft, ]Samsung, SK Hynix and Sony.

According to George Zhao, “The past five months have been an extremely difficult but significant time for Honor. We feel the burden of expectations from industry partners and consumers. " After gaining independence from Huawei, Honor is also expected to launch mid-range and high-end smartphones in the near future, as well as focus on expanding its presence in the overseas market.
