Samsung Galaxy Smart Tag design comes in two color options

Samsung is working on the Galaxy Smart Tag and the trackers have already received certification from Indonesia Telecom. Now, an exclusive 91Mobiles report shows a first look at the smart tag.

According to the report, analyst Ishan Agarwal discovered the GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) of the Galaxy smart tag. This lossless image file is present in the latest version of the APK file of the Samsung SmartThings app. If you remember, the South Korean giant has introduced a new function SmartThings Find in the application, which helps to find our devices (offline).

Either way, the image shows a device with rounded squares. As you can see below, in the name it looks like a diamond with pointed edges. Although Samsung did not deviate too much from ubiquitous design, the edges do look a little more curved than others like Tile Trackers.

There is a ring-shaped ring in the center and a cutout at the top that can be either a button or a lace hole. Also, as in previous leaks, the smart tag is displayed in black and white (oatmeal). A small animation also displays the tracking (Bluetooth) function of the tracker.

In case you don't know, smart trackers (like Tile) are devices that use Bluetooth LE (low energy) and battery to find important items like keys, wallets, remote control, headphones, smartphones, etc. .Samsung has already released a similar product called SmartThings Tracker in 2018 year.

However, the new tracker should contain improvements such as Bluetooth 5.1, UWB (Ultra Wide Band), NFC and RFID interoperability. Also, the name "Smart Tag" does sound a little familiar from the rumored Apple AirTags.

Earlier this month, when registering a trademark with EUIPO, a Samsung smart tag with model number EI-T5300 was discovered. The same has been seen in Bluetooth LE and South Korea certifications. With the new tracker, Samsung is likely to beat the competition in the US and Europe.

The company will likely launch it alongside the Galaxy S21 series on January 14th for around € 15 (₹ 1344).
