Xiaomi Rollable Smartphone Design Patent with Secondary Display 01

Peking Xiaomi Mobile Software filed this patent with the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) at the end of 2019. The name "Flexible Screen Terminal" was later approved on October 29, 2020 and was even published in the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) database.

According to patent documents, this smartphone design includes a movable flexible panel and an additional normal display on the back. The fold-out screen of this phone can be enlarged up to 200% in width. Therefore, the device can also be used as a tablet.

Also, the docs say that these displays will activate depending on which side of the phone is facing the user, for example Microsoft Surface Duo ... However, it also has the ability to use both screens at the same time.

In addition, since the patent is all about usability and durability, the design sketches show nothing else. Hence, LetsGoDigital , publication which found this patent to be a partner Concept Creator ( Jermaine Smith ) to create 3D renders.
