Alleged ASUS ROG Phone 4 with Snapdragon 888 and Android 11 OS revealed

Model ASUS The ROG Phone 3, which debuted in July, has the model number ASUS_I003D. A new ASUS phone with a similar model number ASUS_I005DA has appeared on Geekbench. Model numbers ASUS_I5DA and ASUS_I005DB also appeared on the HTML005 test page. Newly Discovered Phone May Become Successor ROG Phone 3.

Ideally, the next ROG Phone 3 should have the ASUS_I004D model number. However, the model number is replaced with a “4” instead of a “5”. This suggests that it could go beyond the ROG Phone 5.

Various smartphone manufacturers are known to omit the "4" in their model numbers and device names, as this is considered a bad omen in some Asian countries. It is advisable to wait for further reports to find out if the successor to ROG Phone 3 will be called ROG Phone 4 or ROG Phone 5.

According to the ROG Phone 4 benchmark list on Geekbench, it is powered by a Qualcomm chipset codenamed Lahaina. The codename is associated with the Snapdragon 888 5G mobile platform. The chipset is powered by 8GB of RAM and is preloaded with Android 11 OS. In Geekbench 5 single-core and multi-core tests, the phone scored 1081 and 3584 respectively.

ROG Phone 2 v was announced in July 2019, and in July this year it was replaced by the ROG Phone 3. Therefore, it's too early to talk about a successor model.
