Xiaomi recently updated its budget smartphones from last year to Android 10 all over the world. As always, the company started to implement it first in China and then in other regions. Redmi 8 received an update in early July in the company's homeland. Now, finally, they have begun to receive it in India as well.
Android 10 update for redmi 8 in India comes with build number V11.0.1.0.QCNINXM ... The OTA update also raises the security patch level until August 2020. The changelog also only mentions these two things, but there may be certain bug fixes as well.
Redmi 8 isn't the only 2019 budget Xiaomi smartphone to receive Android 10 in India this week. Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7S and Redmi Note 7 Pro also get it. However, it's worth noting that updates for these devices are distributed in batches.
We rule out that the company will start a wider rollout at the end of this or early next month. In any case, if you own any of the phones listed above, you will get Android 10 as well as MIUI 12 in the coming weeks.
Sadly, none of them are suitable for Android 11, but may receive MIUI 13 next year.
