More details: OnePlus will launch cheaper phones for the first time in India

For many years OnePlus supported a very loyal mass subscriber through a clever strategy of offering flagship phones at affordable prices. The 5G era has made it nearly impossible for the company to keep up with this strategy combined with a rapidly competing industry. It was reported that OnePlus CEO Pete Lau announced today that the Chinese company plans to diversify its product range. oneplus logo

Pete Lau was mysterious in his supply of Weibo, so no specific information was given about the products that the technology giant will release in its quest for diversification. However, in an interview with Fast Company, the CEO, speaking through an interpreter, hinted that a subsidiary of BBK plans to return to the production of more affordable phones, as well as access to new product categories.

Although he still did not reveal any of the new products during this interview, he revealed that a glimpse of the new strategy would soon arrive with an announcement for India. The company also plans to bring cheaper devices to other markets, including North America and Europe.

The ultimate goal of OnePlus is to create an ecosystem by attracting more users by selling more mobile phones at lower prices. As the firm tries to build an ecosystem of connected devices, we also expect other smart home products to emerge. Already last year, OnePlus launched smart TV models in India, and a pair of TWS headphones are also on sale.

“We really came from history and roots as an equipment company, but from what we see in the future, building an ecosystem is an advanced trend,” says Lau.
