Vivo explains how the Vivo X50 micro camera works

Vivo launches its new Vivo X50 smartphone on June 1 in China, and the company has already confirmed that the device will be equipped with a micro-gimbal camera for the main sensor, which aims to improve optical stabilization.

The technology is the same as was demonstrated on the Vivo Apex 2020 concept smartphone, which was introduced earlier this year. However, it will debut commercially with the Vivo X50. In anticipation of the launch, Vivo introduced the technical details of the camera with a micro gimbal.

The micromechanical mechanism has a magnetic frame, which is controlled by voice coils. There is also a suspension that is connected to the base by double ball bearings. The parameter includes angles of inclination of the X-axis and Y-axis up to 3 degrees each, which, according to the company, is three times larger than that of traditional OIS.

To reduce any torsional stress during stabilization, the company expanded and folded the sensor ribbon in the form of a double letter S. Thus, the module takes up additional space, but the company claims to have managed to maintain a thickness of 4,5 mm.

Vivo also shared a video teaser using a micro-cardan camera, which demonstrates amazing optical stabilization of the sensor, as well as impressive capabilities in low light. In addition to videos, the output of photos is still very impressive.

The company has already confirmed that Vivo X50 Pro equipped with an ultra-large sensor of the main camera with a focal length of 16-135 mm and supports 5x optical zoom, as well as 10x digital zoom. It is expected that the company will be capable of 360-degree movements and will offer shake-prevention technology.

While Living disclosed details about the new smartphone camera module, the company has not yet confirmed the technical specifications of the camera to configure four cameras. But everything will be clear as soon as the phone is launched in China on June 1, along with pricing and availability information.
