Samsung Galaxy A22e Receives Bluetooth Certification, Launch Imminent

The Galaxy A22 5G was one of the cheapest 5G Samsung smartphones released in 2021. This place was taken by the Galaxy A13 5G, which had about the same set of characteristics. Now, in an unexpected twist of fate, the company appears to be gearing up for a return to the Galaxy A22 series. Samsung is gearing up to launch a new variant of the Samsung Galaxy A22e 5G. This particular device was noticed in the Bluetooth SIG certification database with model number SC-56B.

The listing, unfortunately, does not say anything about the smartphone, except for the nickname and model number. However, the phone has the model number SC-56B. It was launched as Samsung Galaxy A22 in Japan back in October 2022. This leads us to believe that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A22e 5G. It may be a rebranded version of the Samsung Galaxy A22 5G, but the Japanese version is slightly different.

Specifications Galaxy A22e 5G

The Samsung Galaxy A22e 5G is already available in Japan, so we know most of its specs. The phone has a 5,8-inch TFT LCD display with HD+ resolution. This size of the diagonal is quite small by today's standards. The smartphone is presented in three colors - red, white and black.

Under the hood of the Galaxy A22e 5G is a MediaTek Dimensity 700 octa-core processor that boasts 5G capabilities. This chipset is quite efficient thanks to the 7nm process technology. It contains two ARM Cortex-A76 cores clocked at up to 2,2GHz and six ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 2,0GHz. The phone comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There's also a dedicated micro SD card slot, which further expands the storage capacity. The device runs Android 11 with One UI 3.0 at the top.

In terms of camera, the device is pretty basic, with just one 13-megapixel camera and an LED flash. For selfies and video calls, there is an 8-megapixel camera inside the waterdrop notch. The phone charges with just 10W and has a 4000mAh battery. Some of its features include a 3,5mm headphone jack, 5G, NFC, and full GPS. The phone also has an IP68 rating, making it waterproof. Unfortunately, it lacks a fingerprint scanner, so users will rely on the face unlock feature.

The standard variant is available in India and Europe. The A22e variant is inferior in almost every aspect. We are interested to see what the company's strategy will be in connection with this launch.
