Samsung may finally bring Snapdragon social media to Asian and African markets with S22 series

Samsung appears to be set to announce the Samsung Galaxy S22 series in February 2022, a month after rumors of the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE launch, with the former likely to consist of three models namely Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus and S22. Ultra.

Now it looks like the company may be finally working on this approach as it seems more markets will now get the Snapdragon variant instead of the Exynos variant, which has been a step or two behind its rival in the past few years.

Exynos

While there are rumors that Samsung will be launching Snapdragon-powered S22 models in all parts of the world, skipping Exynos entirely. Max Weinbach from Android Police confirmed that there will still be certain regions to receive Exynos chips. Weinbach saw SoC versions of the Exynos 2200 and Snapdragon 898 of the Galaxy S22 series.

He doesn't mention what variants will be available in different regions, but adds that Asian and African markets will get the Snapdragon variant instead of the Exynos variant, according to a previous leak from Galaxyclub.

This means the Samsung Galaxy S22 series in the UK, Europe and the rest of the world will get the Exynos SoC, while markets like Asia, Africa and the US will get the Snapdragon variant.

Interestingly, this will be the first time that Asia and Africa will receive separate variants of all three smartphones with different model numbers (SM-S901E, SM-S906E and SM-S908E).
