Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra with WQHD + 120Hz refresh rate support

Samsung introduced refresh rate 120 Hz on their smartphones last year's Galaxy S20 series. However, the high refresh rate was limited by the Full HD + screen resolution, while the WQHD + was limited to 60Hz.

But if you believe new report from Ice Universe, users won't have to choose between high screen resolution or high refresh rates with the upcoming Galaxy S21 series of flagship smartphones.

Samsung's future flagship smartphones are said to will also support 120Hz adaptive refresh rate for WQHD + screen resolution (3200 × 1440 pixels). But this feature may be limited to the Galaxy S21 Ultra model.

Notably, the recently launched Xiaomi Mi 11 flagship smartphone also supports a high refresh rate of 120Hz for a QHD + display, as we mentioned in our hands-on review.

The other two models in this series are Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 More may get an earlier version. It looks like the company has decided to limit both of these models to Full HD + screen resolution instead of Quad HD +.

It has also been confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G will support the S Pen stylus, which is the first for an S-series smartphones. As a top-end offering, the phone will offer the best from Samsung in terms of camera performance through a quad-camera configuration.

The device is expected to be equipped with a 108MP main camera sensor, a 12MP ultra wide-angle lens, a 10MP sensor with support for 3x optical zoom and another 10MP sensor with support for 10x optical zoom. To look at stunning images, the company will offer the 21-inch Galaxy S6,8 Ultra AMOLED display with a maximum brightness of 1600 nits.

Samsung is gearing up to launch the Galaxy S21 series of flagship smartphones on January 14 at the Samsung Unpacked event. Alongside these phones, the company is set to launch several more products at the same event, including the Galaxy Buds Pro TWS earbuds.
