Oppo Find X5 will pack MediaTek Dimensity 9000

Oppo is gearing up to take its first big step in 2022 with the launch of its new flagship smartphones, namely the Oppo Find X5 series. According to rumors, the company will introduce three smartphones: Oppo Find X5 Lite, Oppo Find X5 and Find X5 Pro. There are even rumors about a Pro + version, but there are no specifics yet. Interestingly, for the first time we will see large differences in characteristics between variants. According to the report , Oppo Find X5 will be equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor, while Oppo Find X5 Pro will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC.

Interestingly, MediaTek announced this last month shortly after the announcement of the Dimensity 9000. MediaTek is proud of its new chipset and is also proud of the partnerships it is building. A few years ago, we would never have expected one of the Taiwanese chips to be inside a flagship from a company that traditionally used Qualcomm SoCs. However, the Taiwanese firm has conquered huge territory with its Dimensity line last year. The company then decided to go higher with the release of Dimensity 9000. The SoC has, at least on paper, the same specifications and architecture as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Exynos 2200. The big difference between the three SoCs depends on the part of the GPU.

According to the leaker, the Oppo Find X5 will feature dual 50MP cameras on the back alongside a 13MP camera. We're expecting a 50MP main camera, another sensor for ultra wide-angle shots, and a third camera that's likely to be a telephoto or even a microscope camera. The Oppo Find X5 Pro has exactly the same camera specs, but we expect it to be better than its vanilla sibling.

The flagship will also ship with a 5000mAh battery that charges at 80W. There is also support for 50W wireless and 10W wireless charging. Rumor has it that the new Find X5 Pro includes 125W fast charging, but this has yet to be confirmed. We know that Oppo and Realme are already developing a 125W charging standard. However, we have yet to see any of these brands launch a flagship with it. We'll see if it debuts with the Find X5 Pro or a possible Pro+ variant.

The Find X5 and X5 Pro are rumored to be coming pretty soon. New smartphones will appear shortly after the celebration of the Chinese New Year, which falls on February 1st. Global markets should see these devices closer to March. The Lite variant cannot be released in China as it is rumored to be a rebrand of the Oppo Reno7.
