OPPO Reno5 5G and Reno5 Pro 5G launched in China with Snapdragon and MediaTek processors respectively

OPPO Reno series has been updated six months after the series was announced in China Reno4... The new Reno5 series was announced in China today and it comes with a professional model.

OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G

Reno5 series design

The Reno5 series comes with an updated design language. OPPO says the new proprietary process uses a pyramidal crystal structure for the glass back, which gives it that extra shine. They also added an oleophobic coating to reduce smudges. The Galaxy Dream version of the two phones has the ability to change color as a result of the different refractive indices of thousands of nanofilm coatings used. OPPO has also added a fluorescent coating to the top of the phone and camera body that absorbs light and then glows in the dark.

Both phones are also light and thin. The Reno5 weighs 172 grams and is 7,9mm thin, while the Pro model weighs 173 grams but is thinner at 7,6mm. The Reno5 and Reno5 Pro will be available in Galaxy Dream, Aurora Blue and Moonlit Night color options.

Reno5 5G specifications

Reno5 has a flat 6,43-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2400 × 1080 pixels. The display has a refresh rate of 90 Hz and a touch sampling rate of 180 Hz. It has a pixel density of 410 PPI and a maximum brightness of 750 nits. There is a hole for the front camera in the upper left corner of the screen.

The standard model is equipped with the same processor Snapdragon 765Gas its predecessors - Reno4 5G and Reno4 Pro 5G. Buyers will be able to pick up the phone in two configurations - an 8GB RAM version with 128GB storage and a 12GB RAM version with 256GB storage. The storage type is UFS 2.1 (two-lane) and there is no expansion support.

Reno5 cameras

There are four rear cameras on the back of the phone, although we're sure only two of them will come in handy. The main camera is a 64MP f / 1.7 sensor with a 6P lens, along with an 8MP f / 2.2 ultra wide-angle camera, a 2MP f / 2.4 macro camera, and another 2MP f / 2.4 camera to capture depth details. The selfie camera is a 32MP f / 2.4 sensor. There is no optical image stabilization, but OPPO claims its electronic image stabilization works well.

The phone has a number of interesting camera features. You can record from both the front and rear cameras simultaneously; Live HDR for video even when recording at night; bokeh video; and a professional tool for creating portrait photos.
