Huawei HiCar and BAIC Blue Valley launch a new smart car in the first half of 2021

Despite the impact of the tightened restrictions, the company is aiming for diversification in the auto industry, and the report now says the company is partnering with another brand to launch a new smart car.

According to the report China Star Market, the Chinese tech giant Hicar partners with BAIC Blue Valley to launch a new smart car. The announcement was made today (January 7, 2021) during the conference. Apparently, this collaboration began early last year, January 28, and by the first half of this year, the two companies will jointly release a new smart car.

At the moment, not many details are known regarding this partnership or the smart car. But the report also says Huawei will be researching and developing software for future smart cars and more. In addition, the company will also be responsible for the ICT and cloud computing technologies at the heart of the new smart car.

The company has previously also partnered with Chinese car manufacturer BYD to launch the world's first car with HarmonyOS as part of its HiCar initiative, and even reportedly planned to start manufacturing car parts and systems. Thus, his partnership with a local company with experience in networking and software systems will only help strengthen its position in the electric vehicle market.
