Samsung will release the Galaxy S22 series on February 9th. This series includes three high-end flagships including Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra. Samsung Galaxy S22: a "compact" high-end smartphone
The Samsung Galaxy S22 5G is a new compact member of the S-series smartphone family. It features a compact 6,1-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. This display also boasts a maximum brightness of 1500 nits. The touchscreen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. Under the hood we have either Snapdragon 8 Gen1 or Exynos 2200 SoC, depending on the region. Both processors are octa-core 4nm flagship chips.
This device is also equipped with AMD RDNA 2 graphics, 8 GB RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB flash memory. Wireless connections include Wi-Fi 6 (WLAN-ax), Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and 5G. The new Samsung Galaxy S22 features a triple rear camera setup. In particular, he has 50-megapixel sensor (wide-angle), 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera sensor, and 10-megapixel telephoto lens with up to 3x optical zoom. The cutout on the front uses a 10-megapixel sensor. Other key details include a 3700mAh battery that can be charged via USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 or wirelessly. In addition, this device is equipped with an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor built into the screen. The Samsung Galaxy S22 weighs just 167 grams and is IP68 water and dust resistant. It will be available in black, white, green and rose gold. All models of the S22 series will ship with Samsung One UI 4.1 on top of Android 12. The price of this device in Germany is €849 for the 128GB model and €899 for the 256GB model.
Samsung Galaxy S22 +
The Samsung Galaxy S22+ 5G offers another model that differs from the Galaxy S22 primarily in size. The "Dynamic AMOLED 2X" display grows to 6,6 inches but has the same resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. However, the maximum brightness of the touchscreen is increased to 1750 nits. The processor, RAM, and storage options are the same as the Galaxy S22 above. In addition, the camera specification of this smartphone is the same as the Galaxy S22 above.

This smartphone is also equipped with Wi-Fi 6 (WLAN-ax), Bluetooth 5.2, NFC and 5G. It supports IP68 water and dust resistance, just like the S22. However, the battery capacity increases to 4500 mAh, and the weight accordingly increases to 196 grams.
The Samsung Galaxy S22+ is available in black, white, green, and rose gold. The price of this device is 1049 euros for the 128 GB model and 1099 euros for the 256 GB model.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra: with S-Pen and 6,8" display
The new Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra differs from its smaller siblings with a slightly more angular Infinity-O Edge design, which is also curved towards the long sides. The top model of the upcoming series uses a 6,8-inch OLED display with a resolution of 3080 x 1440 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. It also uses Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and its maximum brightness is 1750 nits.
Samsung smartphones in Europe will receive updates faster
As usual, this smartphone has Snapdragon 8 Gen1 and Exynos 2200 versions. The Ultra model comes with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB of internal storage. This smartphone is equipped with a quad rear camera system and supports S-Pen. Specifically, it uses a 108-megapixel wide-angle sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and two 10-megapixel telephoto lenses. The datasheet lists both 3x and 10x optical zoom. The single camera on the front is a 40MP shooter.
In addition, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is equipped with a 5000 mAh battery and has the same connectivity and cellular capabilities as the rest of the models in the series. This smartphone is also equipped with an in-screen fingerprint sensor. This model stands out, largely due to the S-Pen, which can be stowed in the case. This feature makes the Ultra more similar to the Note series.
