Narzo 30A vs Poco M3: performance comparison

A few days ago, Realme launched the new Narzo 30 series: a lineup aimed at young people with great specs at an affordable price. The cheapest version of the series is Realme Narzo 30Aproviding entry-level performance but excellent performance. POCO is actually one of the best rivals of Realme in the budget segment: a subsidiary of Xiaomi recently released LITTLE M3 to the world market. Pending the release of the Narzo 30A from the Indian market under a different name (although it has never been confirmed), we think it's time to compare it to the POCO M3 to determine which one is the king of entry-level phones.

Design

Unfortunately, you cannot expect great design from devices in the budget segment. Regardless, the Realme Narzo 30A and POCO M3 have pretty good build quality and original aesthetics. I love the Realme Narzo 30A with its "laser" color options, which consist of two parts: a straight line at the top of the back cover and a pattern at the bottom. Both phones are made of plastic and are not certified for water and dust resistance. Fortunately, each of these devices is equipped with a fingerprint reader: it is located on the side of the POCO M3 and on the back of the Realme Narzo 30A.

Display

There is nothing special about the Realme Narzo 30A and POCO M3 displays. Both have below average HD + resolution and IPS technology. The color reproduction is not very realistic and the resolution is almost high, especially when you consider that these phones come with 6,5-inch displays. The Realme Narzo 30A is actually better because it has a higher brightness (470 nits typical brightness and 570 nits peak brightness), but the differences are subtle. The phones have a teardrop notch for the selfie camera.

Technical specifications and software

The POCO M3 is powered by the Snapdragon 662 chipset while the Realme Narzo 30A is powered by the Helio G85. While the Helio G85 is slightly more powerful than the Snapdragon 662 in benchmarks, the POCO M3 actually delivers better memory configuration and faster internal storage, so it wins out in the hardware comparison. The RAM reaches 6GB in the most expensive configuration, and you get either UFS 2.1 or UFS 2.2 storage. The Realme Narzo 30A has only 4GB of RAM in the best configuration combined with its own eMMC storage. Both phones run Android 10 as the operating system out of the box.

Camera

The POCO M3 camera beats the Realme Narzo 30A in camera separation. With the POCO M3, you get a 48MP main camera, 2MP macro photography and a 2MP depth sensor. The Realme Narzo 30A has a 13MP low main camera and only one 2MP depth sensor. That's not a problem: the POCO M3 can deliver better quality photos with higher levels of detail, as well as better macro shots.

Battery

Both the Realme Narzo 30A and the POCO M3 come with a 6000mAh battery. Their 6000 mAh batteries are the strongest point of these devices, as they allow them to last up to three days on a single charge, even with fairly intensive use. Plus, the phones support 18W fast charging and even reverse charging (via USB cable only). These are real battery phones among the best on the market.

Price

The starting price of the Realme Narzo 30A in the Indian market is Rs. $ 9,799 / 134 while the POCO M3 starts at Rs. $ 11 / $ 970 With the Realme Narzo 164A you can save money, but the POCO M30 is actually a better phone thanks to better memory configuration (more RAM and internal UFS storage) and higher end cameras (3MP sensor and a couple of extra 48MP units ). The POCO M2 wins in comparison, while you should only opt for the Realme Narzo 3A if you want to pay the lowest possible amount of money for your new phone (you will still get a similar experience if we exclude the camera).
